Historic Scotland is an Executive Agency within the Scottish Government with responsibility for safeguarding Scotland's historic environment. Their Inspectorate group supports Scottish Ministers in the protection, conservation and management of Scotland's historic buildings, historic landscapes, archaeological sites and historic wrecks. As part of its programme of modernisation, the Inspectorate group wanted to embrace e-planning and e-consultation.
CAS implemented its Workpro Case Management system for the Inspectorate group at Historic Scotland. Workpro supports staff in a variety of roles with:
- Tracking and management of all types of casework, each with different workflow (e.g. consultation responses, planning applications, building consents, FOI requests);
- Efficient electronic stakeholder communications with bodies such as local authorities, SEPA and property owners -supporting e-planning and e-consultation initiatives;
- Monitoring of casework performance against business objectives (KPIs);
- Document management enabling high quality and timely communication with stakeholders and customers;
- Access for relevant staff working offsite to case-related information;
- Increased staff productivity through the provision of workload management tools.
In addition there is enhanced management information for prioritising work, assessing risk and monitoring performance.
